FLUTACIOUS- Flute, Saxophone, Theory & Clarinet - ALICE NICHOLSON - Teacher, repairer and performer
About me...

I am a (relatively) young and experienced Flute, Saxophone and beginner Clarinet teacher. I have 13 years of teaching experience with an exam pass rate off 100% from grades one to eight in classical and jazz practical and up to grade 5 theory. Teaching adults and children alike, any age, any ability.....in fact anyone wanting to learn.
I encourage fun and understanding within my lessons, every lesson should be rewarding, positive and educational.

My Qualifications
I have two grade eights (one a distinction) as well as a London College Diploma on the Flute, and a woodwind repair diploma. I studied Music at Southampton before returning to my home town of Newark, Nottinghamshire where I began to teach privately. I am familiar with the ABRSM syllabus for all my instruments and encourage my pupils to take examinated grades each year.

My Teaching History

I have taught over EIGHTY pupils privately, many for several years. The majority are aged between 11 and 17, yet I also teach many adults and even pensioners (which proves that you are never too old to try). I attended the 11th session music centre for several years, and was offered a position to teach in 2004/2005 which I accepted and worked as a supply teacher. I also taught for the 'Music for Schools Foundation' in schools around Newark and Lincolnshire. I was appointed the position of Woodwind Teacher at 'Salterford House Primary School' near Nottingham for three years, and now I teach between 20-30 pupils privately at home. I teach at the wonderful Holygirt Girls School and Dagfa School in Nottingham as their peripetetic Saxophone, Flute and Clarinet Teacher, and am woodwind repairer and stand-in woodwind teacher for 'Nottingham Music Tutors'.
